Tools and Materials Needed
- Pale pink latex basecoat
- Roller, paint tray
- Lavender pearlescent latex paint
- Lilac pearlescent latex paint
- roller and 2 paint trays
- Low-tack tape
Getting Started
- Basecoat the walls with 2 coats of pale pink latex paint. Let dry thoroughly.
- It is easiest to do one wall at a time. Tape off a wall to keep paint off the adjacent one. Once you have finished the wall, remove the tape, let dry, then tape the next wall.
- Using the two trays, pour lavender pearlescent paint in one, and lilac pearlescent paint in the other. Roll the half the roller through the each coloursto coat fully.
- Roll onto the wall in wide arcs going back and forth and covering the surface in broad strokes without removing the roller from the wall. Go over the area in different directions, getting rid of roller marks, blending the colours together, but being careful not to muddy them too much. You want to be able to see bits of each shade on the wall, to give a cloudy effect.
- Use the special edging tool to get into the corners.
- Keep standing back to look at your work. You can always add more colour to get rid of any muddiness or cover areas that are not blended well.
- Let dry.
