Getting Started

Note: Use a mask, and protective eyewear when applying the epoxy resin as the fumes are toxic.

  1. Prime and basecoat the table with the bright pink-silver mix. Let dry.
  2. Glue down whatever sort of collage you choose. Try to keep the items as flat as possible, but you can glue down small items like buttons, or small barrettes, or candies, up to approximately 1/4" to 1/2" thick.
  3. The epoxy resin comes in two separate bottles that must be mixed together in exactly equal proportions just before applying.
  4. Pour the contents of the two bottles into a container and mix well. Apply immediately as the mixture will begin to set very quickly.
  5. Follow the instructions that come with the epoxy for the most complete instructions.
  6. To apply the resin, pour it straight out of the container, starting around the outer edge of the table and moving in a circular swirl towards the center. With a paint brush, softly push the resin and smooth it all together over the surface. You may need a second coat, depending on how thick the items glued to the table are. One coat of resin is equal to approximately 50 coats of regular varnish.
  7. Let dry.
