- Low-tack tape
- Light green latex paint
- Latex glazing liquid
- Water
- Roller & tray
- Stiff bristle brush
Getting Started
- Basecoat the walls with 2 coats of a nice, bright off-white.
- Decide on the width of your gingham and mark off the horizontal lines with a chalk line.
- Tape off the horizontal bands with low-tack tape.
- Mix the coloured glaze: 1 part paint, 3 parts glaze and 1 part water
- Apply the glaze inside the tape on the wall with a roller.
- Using a stiff bristle brush, drag it along the length of the painted stripe horizontally only, to give the effect of a cloth weave- of material. You can go over it a couple of times; brushing and blending out any harsh marks. Let dry.
- Mark off vertical stripes with the same width as your horizontal stripes, and repeat steps 2 through 6.
