Tools and Materials Needed
- Raw wood side table
- Latex primer
- 3-inch brush
- Charcoal coloured paint
- Silver leaf
- Aquasize
- Soft brush
- Lavender Leaf
- Dry size transfer pattern
- Varnish
Getting Started
- Sand the table lightly if necessary and dust.
- Prime, let dry, then paint with 2 coats of charcoal paint. Let dry overnight.
- Apply aquasize over the surface of the top and sides of the top of the table. Let it get sticky, then carefully apply silver leaf over the entire sized area. Brush smooth with a very soft dry brush, to remove the excess. Let dry.
- Using the dry sizing pattern, make certain that the border runs straight around the top, then with a burnishing tool, rub over the whole surface of the transfer, so that it transfers to the tabletop. Apply the lavender metallic leaf the same way that you would with the aquasize, and remove the excess with a soft brush.
- Seal with varnish.
