Tools and Materials Needed
- High-adhesive primer, tinted grey
- Metallic silver paint
- 4-inch plastic-bristle brush
- Aluminum coloured contact paper
- X-acto knife or sharp scissors
- Ruler & pencil
- Wallpaper smoother
- Satin finish water-based varnish
Getting Started
- On the sides of the fridge, wash properly, and prime with a high-adhesive primer that has been tinted grey. You may need a couple of coats to get a uniform finish.
- Using the plastic-bristle brush, lightly apply the metallic silver paint. You want to see the brush marks, so it gives the appearance of brushed metal. Let dry.
- For the front of the fridge, measure and cut the contact paper to the size of the panels on the front. Attach 1 piece at a time and smooth out any air bubbles with a wallpaper spatula. Apply 2 coats of satin varnish to protect the surface.
