Tools and Materials Needed

Getting Started

  1. Measure the width of your bed. Choose the poster that you want, and if it isn't large enough have it blown up, and mounted on wood or MDF with strong spray adhesive.
  2. Cut 3-inch molding to the size of the frame, mitering the corners so that they fit together. Prime the wood and let it dry.
  3. Paint the wood roughly with the green paint and a paintbrush. Let dry.
  4. Dip a brush into the pale pink paint and apply it over the top of the green. Rub off the excess pink with a rag to let the green show through and give it an antiqued look. Let dry.
  5. If you have too much pink on and it won't come off, you can drybrush a bit of green back over top.
  6. The poster was mounted on MDF legs and reinforced with 2-inch pine screwed onto the back. Height varies depending on the size of the bed, but ours was raised on 3.5-foot legs.
  7. Attach the frame around the posterboard with glue and finishing nails.
