We have inexpensive dressers that are covered in plastic veneer/laminate. How do I go about painting them?

This is a relatively easy project.
You must rough up the surface first so that paint will adhere. Wash with a heavy duty cleanser such as TSP. Dry. Sand lightly and wipe clean. Apply a high adhesion primer that is designed for slippery surfaces and let dry. Now you are ready to paint.
