SIMPLY SQUARED WALLS

Tools & Materials Needed:
- white and pale green latex paint, satin
- Roller and paint tray
- Pencil and measuring tape
- Chalk line
- Spirit level
- Water-based glazing liquid
- Mixing container
- 3" foam brush
- Clean, lint-free rags
Recipe
- 1 part pale green latex paint
- 3 parts water-based glazing liquid
- 1 part water
Instructions
Step 1. Apply two coats of white basecoat and let dry for 4 hours.
Step 2. (Shot 1) Measure and mark 18" intervals across and down each wall. Use a chalk line to mark out the grid. Check your lines with a level to make certain they are straight. Use a colored chalk similar to your intended paint color.
Step 3. Shot 2) Mix the green glaze. Apply the glaze to every other square with a foam brush, creating a checkerboard effect. Work on one square at a time.
Step 4. (Shot 3) While the glaze is still wet, rub the square softly with a rag to create a slightly dragged and antiqued effect.
