Instructions Step 1. Cut an L-shaped stencil from a sheet of Mylar. Ours is ½ inch wide. Cut the ends at a 45-degree angle so that the painted panel stripes will look mitered. Step 2. Apply two coats of the medium blue base coat to the drawers and let the paint dry for 4 hours. Place the stencil for the top and left shadow bands onto the drawer. Use spray adhesive and press firmly along the edges so that paint won’t seep under the stencil. Using a small roller with just a bit of light blue paint, fill in the bands. Remove the stencil and repeat on the next drawer until they are all painted. Step 3. Position the second stencil so that now the cut-out bands are at the bottom and right. Fill them in with dark blue paint.
