Cath Kidston Ltd was founded in 1993 when designer Cath Kidston opened a tiny shop in London’s Holland Park. She began by selling the vintage fabrics, wallpapers and brightly-painted junk furniture she remembered fondly from her childhood. Her clever, witty re-working of traditional English country house style meant that her shop soon became a cult success.

Kelvin.23 was first conceived in May of 2006 by serial inventor-preneur, Kevin Royes while hanging a painting one afternoon with his wife Lyn. It was a simple enough job, but it meant pulling out the hefty toolbox and an assortment of construction tools to get it done. That’s when the idea hit – “create a compact, super functional hand tool that could hang that painting, and tackle all those other tasks we faced an a day to day basis around the home.”kelvin.23: the urban super-tool was born.
